Title: Dormito Somnium -or- To Sleep, Perchance to Dream
Pairing: Remus/Severus
Rating: PG-13
Words: About 17,800

Notes: This story was originally written for [livejournal.com profile] xterm, in the (anomymous) Christmas exchange [livejournal.com profile] snupin_santa, with the prompt:

The night before marrying Tonks, Lupin feels that he has been manipulated into the situation and decides that it's time he made a decision for himself. (which, of course, is Snape...)

With such a dramatic prompt, it took a while for the narrative and back-story of this fic to gestate; I hope the web that I have spun pleases. Bonus points for anyone who spots all of the fairy-tale references!

Thanks go to [livejournal.com profile] scribbulus_ink for organising the exchange and for web-hosting the longer stories.

"Severus Snape was a good and true man - an unsung hero of the war who had sacrificed everything for the cause, even his own name and safety in the peacetime that followed. He had done the hardest thing of all - not been prepared to die, but been prepared to kill the person who was in many ways the only loving father he had known, at that person's own orders. He had stood brave and strong, seeing his mission through to the very end without a waver or a crack in the facade, despite having no hope of thanks or reprieve. He was an admirable and remarkable man, and Remus found himself in awe."

For that single passage, apart from anything else at all, I will love you forever. You have beautifully articulated what I have felt since I read that part of Book 6.

Bad form replying to myself, I know, but I'm not one to stand on ceremony. Just finished this. Had to comment on the above before I could :)

Wonderfully imaginative and elegantly done. I especially liked how Hermione and Snape worked together to bring Remus around, and how you had the damage done to all of the characters bring them together in the end. Very romantic, and I am such a sucker for romance.

Thank you for your lovely comment(s)! I'm really pleased you share my opinon of Snape's sacrifices in HBP - I only hope that JKR shares this opinion also! (I'd be disappointed if she decided to make Snape properly evil after all).

I'm pleased that the interaction between the characters worked for you and the 'persuasion' process seemed believable - Hermione just can't stop herself sometimes!

Thanks for the flowers - they have brightened up my day no end ;-)

Holla,
Many of these companies are only in place to make money from collecting that fee and never provide you with any credit counseling or other services at all.
If this happens, the chances are the fees and charges will start to accrue and the next thing you know you are not making the minimum repayments.
Got your copy now? Okay, roll it out and study each and every item in the list.
